Lawshall Parish Council meetings are normally held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Village Hall (an exception is the May 2024 meeting, which is on 08-May at The Foundry, and includes our Annual General Meeting, starting at 7:00pm). All residents are welcome to attend and to bring up any subject for discussion in the Public Forum at the end of the meeting. The agenda is displayed on the Parish Council notice boards in the village several days before each meeting and also here on the website. The notice boards can be found at Rectory Corner, the Village Hall and the School. Minutes can be viewed here on the website or by request from the Clerk.
All parish councils must discharge their duties and powers within the law and according to their governance policies on the conduct of meetings and financial matters. These are reviewed regularly and updated when appropriate.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, it is also the duty of every parish council to adopt and maintain a publication scheme. This provides a list of the information the Parish Council makes available routinely and explains how it can be accessed by the community. Where possible, listed information will be placed on the Parish Council website to download and read. Please contact the Clerk to request listed information if you are unable to do this.
Parish Councillors observe the Code of Conduct, which sets out the standards of behaviour that they are expected to adhere to.
The Register of Interests for Lawshall Parish Council is held by Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils Democratic Services and can be viewed here.
